I remember trying to really hard to sit still with my hands on my knees. I was not very successful. I itched, I got bored.
When I lived in DC and had a high(er) stress job than I have now, I looked into meditation classes...but I never followed through. I just couldn't find the time to clear my mind. Too much going on!
When I was pregnant I tried to get into hypnobirthing for awhile - which was a little like meditating, but usually it just made me fall asleep.
Now that I am in CA, maybe I should be more Zen and try again. Be intentional. Clear my mind. Maybe I will be less stressed about all the craziness being a mom of a toddler if I meditate. I don't really know how to start though. My usual tactic is to read a book, but I'm not sure that's the best way here...
